The training manual on Small Business Success, a compilation of key Hubbard management tools is accompanied by a checksheet which is a detailed checklist of study items and drills are provided. The actions taken on the checksheet which are study assignments and practical exercises are reviewed by a trained supervisor. (Each chapter and each section contains drills and exercises for implementation of the tools studied, all of which is reported to the course administrator via email or fax). Successful application is what we are aiming for, not simply having read or "completed" the exercises.

The early chapters include information and fundamentals on management responsibility, the anatomy of control and an entire section on a key formula for practice expansion. These vital data are then followed by the problems caused by "fixed ideas" and the importance of being able to confront and handle challenges.

The middle section of the manual is dedicated to promotion, marketing and sales and includes such factors as communication, principles of promotion and the utilization of surveys. Sales factors are then studied including the need for drilling and the importance of integrity in sales. This section is followed by data on employee management including hiring and rewarding production and penalizing non production.

The next section is entirely devoted to a fascinating Hubbard discovery called "The Emotional Tone Scale" which provides very simple and easily understand data on how and why people respond to different levels of communication and emotion. The final section deals with improving production, speed of service and exchange.
